The Unemployment Society

Welcome to the Unemployment Society

pepelwerk Season 1 Episode 1

Unemployment isn’t a checkbox, it’s a warning sign that our education and workforce systems haven’t kept up. The Unemployment Society (fixed by pepelwerk) is where we talk honestly about what’s broken, why people are slipping through the cracks and what it actually takes to build systems that work in real life. If you’re tired of the chaos and ready to be part of the change, you’re in the right place. Subscribe for new episodes!

Most people think unemployment is a status, a checkbox, a moment you hope doesn't last too long, but we see it differently.

Unemployment is a symptom, a warning light that the systems meant to help people thrive haven't kept up.

Everywhere you turn, school, work, government, even nonprofits, you can fill it, a mismatch between what people need and how the system actually works.

So we built a space to talk about it, not quietly, not politely and definitely not with a corporate panel and a bowl of mints.

This is the unemployment society fixed by people work.

This show isn't about pointing fingers.

It's about asking better questions and telling the truth about what's broken.

Questions like, how do we get here?

Why does getting a job feel harder than doing one?

Why does education still operate like it's 1995?

And who actually benefits from all of this chaos?

We're here to unpack the mess, confront the contradictions and figure out what a fair functional path could actually look like.

Not in theory and practice, in people's real lives.

So if you're tired of navigating systems that don't make sense, if you're asking bigger questions, if you're ready to stop just watching change and start being a part of it, you're in the right place.

Welcome to the Unemployment Society, where we stop accepting broken systems and start building ones that actually work. If you're living the chaos of school, work or unemployment or building something that flips it on its head, we want you on the mic.
